The vines are grown respecting Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture principles. The Domaine does not trim, and all the vines are plaited (like Leroy Domain does), which creates bridges between the wines. Yann wants to limit or stop the use of copper in the vinyard. The Domain uses herbal preparation and decoctions to treat plantation. Some years it is almost possible, others, like 2016 is not possible. Yann Durieux spend a lot of time observing the vineyard, making research to find right solutions. Yann invests in equipment such as light chaser to be able to intervene at any time, with the least impact on the soil. This balance and reinforcement of the plant will allow Yann to work more serenely then in the cellar. The Domaine's wines are systematically made every year without any inputs. The use of chaptalisation, sulphiting and other "Bon-Dieuseries" are proscribed from the Domaine. This is why wines are very marked by the vintage effect.
Vines of Pinot Noir located 500 meters from the Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru, on a limestone plateau. The soil is 10 to 20 centimeters deep and the roots are planted in the bedrock. Family Parcel that gave Yann the envy to become winegrower. Aged 24 months in casks.
